The European Union Reference Laboratory for alternatives to animal testing (EURL ECVAM) – part of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) – has published its 2018 annual status report summarizing the progress being made in the development, validation, and regulatory acceptance of alternatives to animal methods. The publicly available report includes information on recent workshops, publications (including a workshop report co-authored with the PETA Science Consortium International), test methods undergoing validation, and multiple international collaborations where non-animal methods are being used.
