The OECD has published a new document,“Fundamental And Guiding Principles For (Q)SAR Analysis Of Chemical Carcinogens with Mechanistic Considerations,” that discusses the integration of mechanistic considerations in (Q)SAR analysis. It highlights the increasing availability of mechanistic information, which can substantially increase the reliability of (Q)SAR analyses. The report, an outcome of a workshop held in 2012 on integrated approaches to testing and assessment, also discusses the advantages of using Q(SAR) and mechanistic data with toxicogenomics and in vitro assays in an integrative toxicity assessment.
