ICCVAM Holds Public Forum

As part of a series of annual forums to promote communication and involvement in activities to forward alternative test methods, the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM) and the NTP Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM) presented ongoing activities to forward the development and validation of methods to replace the use of animals in testing. Specifically, forum participants discussed alternative test methods for acute systemic toxicity, endocrine activity, vaccine safety, and skin sensitization potential. Representatives from various government agencies presented information on activities within their agencies and members of the public had an opportunity to comment on ICCVAM activities.
