Peter Pôbiš has won PETA Science Consortium International’s poster award for the project he presented at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) Summer School on Non-Animal Approaches in Science, a virtual programme that took place from 17 to 21 May 2021. Attendees explored new developments in the field of non-animal approaches through expert lectures, poster presentations, and interactive sessions.
Pôbiš, a master’s student at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, is developing and optimising a three-dimensional human cornea-like model to assess the photoirritancy and eye irritancy of medical devices and drugs without using any animal components.
